Why do I need to register with an email address?

What pirate names are allowed?
Ye can use characters, digits, underscores and hyphens. At least four, but not more than thirteen characters. Do not use spaces and special characters.
How can I play on an other or new device?
Jus’ try to register with yer email address on yer new device, an’ we’ll send ye an email with a token. Enter th’ token on th’ new device, an’ ye’ll be able to login.
Do I need a password?
No passwords needed, Cap’n! We connect yer account to yer device so’s yer th’ only person who can play with yer account!
